These tiny quartz crystals are from Afghanistan. They remain in the same organic shape as when they were originally found. Afghani quartz is called as "Faden Quartz," known for the thread like line that travels through it, perpendicular to its line of growth. It is much easier to see in larger pieces. Faden Quartz is said to be excellent at transmitting energy & contains a lot of information about our Earth.

Every earring pair is made with natural Quartz gemstones of the same color however, the shape & size of the earrings may vary slightly to those pictured in the listing. While they may not be perfectly identical, both earrings will be the same relative shape, color, & size, so they match!
Amy Mainzer is one of the world's leading scientists in asteroid detection & planetary defense. As principal investigator of NASA's Near-Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (NEOWISE) mission, Mainzer has overseen the largest space-based asteroid hunting project in history. She also served as the Deputy Project Scientist for the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) mission. Dr. Mainzer's research focuses on characterizing the populations of asteroids & comets through statistical measurements of their sizes, orbits, albedos, & rotational states; she also studied brown dwarfs, ice giant planets, & star forming regions.
She has an asteroid named after her - Asteroid 234750 Amymainzer.
She served as a technican advisor for the Netflix's sci-fi comedy, Don't Look Up, featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Tyler Perry, & Ariana Grande.
